
Senior Residential Support Worker
Rainbow Recruitment Services are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker, on behalf of their client, at a new Children’s home in Eastergate, Chichester.
As an experienced Senior Support Worker, you will be working within accommodation supporting 4 Children (aged between 10-17), and be key in promoting a happy, homely environment where everyone is treated equally, and all work on the basis of respect, value, tolerance, empathy and trust.
You will be responsible for:

Leading a team of colleagues by setting an example, mentoring, and offering support & advice.

Acting as an appropriate role model to Children in the home, helping to meet their practical and emotional needs by providing support, advice, and assistance.

Helping to address their concerns, and previous trauma, working with them to achieve well-being, education, enjoyment, and achievement, to form positive relationships, and to be safe.

Supporting children to prepare for future independence and self-sufficiency.
Duties include:

Ensuring that Safeguarding and the protection of Children is always prioritised.

Striving to provide the best experience possible for the Children - enabling, engaging, and empowering them to achieve their aspirations.

Ensuring that all Legislation, Company Policies & Procedures are always followed.

Respecting, support & developing colleagues to the best of your ability.

Support the Registered Manager in ensuring budgets are maintained, and monitor spending.

Supporting children to participate in the routines of the home and encourage them to take part in new activities.

Promoting education and support children in attending school, accompanying the child if required.

Celebrating birthdays, festive holidays, and the smallest of achievements for Children & Colleagues, always creating fun!

Ensuring that staff complete all records to a high standard.

Ensuring that the medical needs, including medications are managed and recorded immediately.

Promoting education, including where children are out of education, supporting them with educational activities and work toward education outcomes.

Promoting well-being in the home by ensuring the environment is free from bullying, prejudice providing a safe, loving place to live.

As required, work with external agencies, social workers, health professionals, advocates and families.
You will have:

Experience working with children who have experienced a negative childhood for various reasons.
-
Awareness of using Physical Intervention to ensure that the child, staff and others are safe.

Experience motivating & leading a team.

Ability to mentor and support colleagues (Children’s Support Workers).
-
Ability to deal with challenging behaviour, and support children with complex needs.
-
Strong communication & record-keeping skills.

Basic IT Literacy.

You must also have, or be willing to work towards a Diploma Level 3 in Looking after Children and Young People.

UK Driver’s license, to be able to drive company vehicles.
This position is available immediately on a Full time, Permanent basis.
Starting Pay Rate: £15.60 - £18.70ph
